Invasion Of GMO Mosquito With Killer Gene

I just received this email alerting me of the releasing GM (Genetically Modified) mosquitos in populated areas to help control the population of mosquito growth. This high-tech GM mosquitos are genetically modified with a gene designed to kill them unless given an antibiotic known as tetracycline.

So they will be testing this GM mosquito here in the US Floida state on people and the environment in first 1/4 of 2012, but wait they have already begun testing it in other countries. In the Cayman Islands there was no public consultation taken on potential risks and informed consent was not given from locals.

This is really scary because if you get stung by one or more of these GM mosquito there is no telling how it will affect you. After all if you do get stung by this GM mosquito the saliva of the GM mosquito will also enter your blood and their MG gene designed to kill the GM mosquito will for sure do some thing to your immunity too.

The question is what will it do to us? After you read this be sure to go to the page called (Detox Do It Now)

To those of you who have been eager to hear the latest news concerning the potential release of genetically modified mosquitoes – here it is. It turns out that the genetically modified mosquitoes could be released into the U.S. Environment as early as January of 2012. A private firm plans to initiate the release of the GE mosquitoes in the Florida Keys. Florida will be the first beta testing grounds to determine whether or not the mosquitoes lead to detrimental environmental and genetic impact. Residents in this area will also be subjected — without choice — to these genetically manipulated insects, unless the private firm decides to seek permission.

Genetically Modified Mosquitoes | An Unknown Dangerous Experiment

The first mosquito release took place in the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean in 2009. On Sunday, October 27, the release was discussed in a scientific paper by the journal of Nature Biotechnology with the report concluding the releases’ success. A second trial occurred in 2010, where 6,000 mosquitoes were released in Malaysia for further experiments. The mosquitoes are genetically modified with a gene designed to kill them unless given an antibiotic known as tetracycline. Offspring of the GM mosquitoes will receive this same lethal gene which will kill the offspring before it can ever reach adulthood. As more genetically modified mosquitoes mate with wild mosquitoes, the idea is that more and more offspring will be produced with the lethal gene, thereby reducing the mosquito population.

Of course the risks these mosquitoes pose both on the environment as well as the health of all living creatures are highly unknown, leaving everyone with many more questions than answers. We have already seen how terribly genetic modification can threaten the environment and human health, yet people are still moving toward a genetically modified world. With the release of genetically modified insects could come the downfall of both local and global ecosystems as well as negative consequences concerning the food chain.

There is simply no way of knowing what could happen by replacing the naturally born life forms on planet earth with genetically modified creations.

Some questions that still remain unanswered:
* Will Oxitec, the creator of the insects, need to acquire the free and informed consent of residents in Key West for the release of the GM mosquitoes? With the previous release of the mosquitoes in the Cayman Islands there was no public consultation taken on potential risks and informed consent was not given from locals.

* With 0.5 percent of the released insects being female (the gender which bites humans), what happens to humans if bitten by the female mosquitoes?

* What could happen to the ecosystem and local food chain with the major decrease in the Aedes aegypti mosquito population?

* Who will regulate the release, and who will be responsible in the event of complications – to any degree?
If Florida and the US approves Oxitec’s planned release of these genetically modified mosquitoes, we will become that much closer to future genetic modification of living creatures as well as the potential collapse of environmental and human health. Luckily, judging by the widespread opposition of genetically modified foods, it is likely that this experiment won’t turn into a reality without a fight.

How to keep mosquitoes from biting you.
1- Wear long sleeves and over all clothing that covers you.

2- Put citronella essential oil (4 or 6 drops) in 1/8th cup carrier oil such as olive
or grapeseed and put it on exposed skin.

3- Don’t wear scents or wash clothes with scented soap use washing soda or borax only
for clothing as this doesn’t attract the bugs.

4- If you are out doors in the country put dirt on your skin…just rub it on. They don’t like that.

5- Set a fan beside you if possible.

6- Some people get bitten more than others is because there might be a problem with their large intestine. Find a jin shin jyutsu practitioner who will correct the energy flow through your large intestine and that may fix the problem
OR move away from any large bodies of water, rivers ect…

7- Be sure to buy a mosquito net for your bed. Here is a link for you to look them over:

8- Eat Garlic because a big attraction for them is the carbon dioxide from your breathing.
Mosquitoes hate garlic. This Garlic formula does a good job keeping me bite free.
Directions:
– Mince a few cloves of garlic then
cover with mineral oil.
– Allow it to sit for at least 24 hours.
– Next you take a teaspoon of *just the oil* and mix it with 2 cups of water
and 1 teaspoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice.
– Strain through a cheesecloth if you have any floaties
then pour into a spray bottle. Shake before each use.

9- They are attracted by scents like perfumes, sweat, body odor as well as body heat. Be sure to use scent free shampoos, soaps, deodorants and detergents.

10- This is an essential oil recipe to use as a mosquito repellent. It stores well and should be used within the year.
– 1/4 cup vegetable oil mixed with these essential oils (mix and store in a spray bottle):
– 8 drops cedar
– 5 drops eucalyptus
– 4 drops lavender
– 2 drops rosemary
– 2 drops juniper
– 1 drop peppermint
– 1 drop cinnamon
– 1 drop clove

11- I like this recipe because it only needs a few items and it’s a breeze to put together. Make sure you shake it up for a few minutes each time before you use it. This is better to use on your body than those poisonous TOXIC sprays that they try selling us in stores.
– 2 cups witch hazel
– 1 teaspoon vegetable glycerin
– 20 drops citronella essential oil
– 20 drops lemongrass essential oil
– Instructions: Mix in a spray bottle and shake well before use.
